HALF DAY GUIDED TOUR OF RENAISSANCE AND BAROQUE ROME – WALKING TOUR
A walk in the heart of Renaissance and Baroque Rome. Starting from the Trevi Fountain, the monumental celebration of the Virgin Aqueduct, we will cross the Galleria Colonna and the Piazza Colonna, taking its name from the Column in honour of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius. After you will see Piazza Montecitorio, once a Palace it is now used by the Italian Parliament. We will visit the Piazza Sant’Ignazio is a beautiful rococo square and the Jesuit renaissance church with the illusionist dome by Andrea Pozzo. We’ll enter Pantheon with its huge Ancient Roman dome and the grave of the great Italian artist Raphael, after a visit to the Church of St. Louis of France, with the famous canvases by Caravaggio and the eclectic dome of Saint Ivo alla Sapienza by Borromini. Our tour finish off with Piazza Navona and its famous fountain of the Four Rivers designed by Bernini for Pope Innocent X Pamphilj.
