Half day driving tour outside of Rome Guided Driving Tours of the “Castelli Romani”
Discover the Castelli Romani, a Summer resort area for wealthy Romans since the days of the Roman Empire. The towns were founded by Popes and patricians, a group of ruling class families in Rome. Driving south along the Via Tuscolana we will reach the Hilltop Town of Frascati, where a breathtaking view of Rome will be a perfect start for a great day visiting the lovely villages and lakes. After time for an Espresso, we will drive to Grottaferrata to admire the Monastery, established in 1004 and then drive to Castel Gandolfo the Summer Papal residency. And a meal at Pagnanelli overlooking Lake Albano.
